"mstscax.dll" Does Not Match the Version of the Client Shell
Posted by David Saliba on 10 February 2010 11:22 AM

This problem occurs when the "mstscax.dll" file is not re-registered when a Windows Update or Service Pack is applied that does not register a new ActiveX component.

To solve this problem, run the following at the command prompt (ensuring you have administrator rights) to register the "mstscax.dll" file: "regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\mstscax.dll"
