Symptoms of issue

When attempting to create a shortcut for a published resource and pin it to the start bar, upon execution of the shortcut, another entry in the user's start bar is created.

This behavior can be observed in the following screenshot:

Description

This problem occurs due to how shortcuts are handled in Windows. Should you wish to avoid this behavior, a shortcut can be created as follows:

  1. Create a shortcut on desktop of the application
  2. Run the application
  3. Once the application starts, right click on the taskbar icon and select "pin to taskbar". Note that the icon pinned will be the 2X icon.
  4. Open the folder *C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar where xxxx is the user name
  5. Rename the shortcut "TSClient Application" to the name of the application
  6. Copy the Target Shortcut properties from the desktop shortcut to the one in the Taskbar folder
  7. Change the icon of the shortcut to the application icon by browsing the folder *C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\2XClient\ico
  8. You can delete the desktop shortcut

*Please note that the folder might be Local instead of Roaming. The process needs to be repeated for every application needed.
