Symptoms of issue

Activation fails from the Licensing pane with the error: “License key activation failed. Please contact support@2x.com

Description/Fix

Activation of the 2X Remote Application Server product requires internet access for validation with 2X servers. The request is sent to erp.2x.com over TCP port 443.

To ensure that the activation works, outbound connectivity to erp.2x.com over port 443 needs to be confirmed.

If proxy settings are required, these can be filled in from the Proxy Settings accessible from the License Activation window.

Notes

A quick test that could be used to determine if outbound connectivity is allowed from the machine that runs the 2X Remote Application Server console. This can be done by running a telnet test from command prompt with the following command: “telnet erp.2x.com 443”

Telnet comes pre-installed on Windows Server 2003. From Windows Server 2008 onwards, it needs to be added as a Server Feature (Telnet Client) from the Server Manager Console.
